VLSIresearch reported a mixed picture for fab capacity utilization in 1Q 2015 in its recent edition of Semiconductor WEEK. 28nm fab utilization turned up sharply. Also up were 20nm, 16nm, and 14nm. There was a sharp decline in 40nm capacity utilization. Larger nodes declined as well. The source of this data came from analysis published in VLSI’s Chip Insider® Graphics report.
