Worldwide reticle sales are expected to fall for a second straight year in 2020 due to a prolonged downturn in the semiconductor market. The COVID-19 pandemic has put the semiconductor recovery on hold in 2020, disrupting many parts of the supply chain and more importantly end-demand. Reticle units are projected to fall again this year, offsetting an overall increase in the ASP mix. Reticle volumes for =90nm are projected to drive the decline due to their broad exposure to automotive, industrial, and consumer segments. Reticle sales are expected to surge in 2021 as the impact of COVID19 abates and the semiconductor market resumes its recovery process.
