Semiconductor sales held flat and were just above 2020's peak level in the 1st quarter. The IC weather stayed Hot with -0°F change. Focusing on the DRAM market this week, the 13-week MA with 17% y/y growth shows this segment is smoking hot. It is also demonstrated by sales almost flatlining in a season that's typically sinking. Last week, Auto ICs and Logic achieved the best y/y growth. NAND was slightly positive. Analog and Power were slightly negative.
IC Wafer Fab Production levels continued to rise last week at well above 1Q20 peak levels, with production levels 50% above 2020's lows in 300mm equivalents-per-week.
The Supply/Demand status held tight for the week in Shortage conditions. DRAM jumped again. NAND and Analog & Power also rose. IDM, Foundry, and OSAT loosened a full notch. The 1Q NowCast is Tight.
