Semiconductor sales kicked off 2021 in classic recovery. Sales were 20% above 2020 for the 1st week of the year. The IC weather warmed 3°F to Sunny, as the normal arctic holiday chill faded. IC Highlights: Focusing on the Auto IC picture this week,13-week MAs show how buyer cuts, due to COVID, drove a 1H20 crash in Auto. When demand returned due to the consumer migration from cities to the suburbs, IC demand surged. This led to a shortage as Foundries, OSATs, & laminate suppliers had retasked capacity to other IC markets.
