Semiconductor sales continued a steep upward track for the 2nd week of the year. The IC weather warmed to 85°F with 8 out of 9 markets jumping to a new level. Focusing on the DRAM picture this week, 13-week MAs show it 10% above 2020 albeit in a typical 4th to 1st Qtr decline, though this belies the soaring raw data series. Auto and Analog & Power are the fastest-growing, closing in on 20% y/y rates. All five segments, including NAND and Logic, are enjoying double-digit growth rates.
IC Wafer Production accelerated in the 2nd week of 2021, following the IC sales gain up. Wafer fab production has been strongly positive since mid-October. The Supply/Demand status tightened back up in the first week of January with the post-holiday visibility brightening. Foundry and OSAT jumped. Analog & Power improved as well. DRAM, NAND, and IDM remained in Tight to Shortage conditions.
Electronics' Prices are rolling over as post-holiday demand softens.
