Semiconductor sales hit their 1st $10B week at a >10% Y/Y gain in the 1st week of Dec. The slow 2% W/W gain showed we were near the seasonal peak The IC weather rose 3°, to a hot 95° F.
IC Highlights: Focusing on the Logic picture this week,13-week MAs show a recent acceleration as the segment headed into the holidays. NAND is clearly the hottest segment now, with DRAM following. Analog & Power has run up enough to pass DRAM, while Auto's V shape recovery has taken it to the plus side.
Semiconductor Supply & Demand: The week's Semiconductor Supply/Demand status held steady. DRAM jumped to Shortage, driven by Micron's power outage. Foundry tightened for the first time in 6 weeks. OSATs jumped a class. NAND, IDM, and Analog & Power were unchanged. The 4Q20 Nowcast held at Tight.
Electronics' Prices are rising again, driven by the holidays & new COVID Stay-in-Place orders
