Summaries: 3nm - The different development strategies of TSMC and Samsung: Many have noted that the biggest difference between these two 3nm processes is TSMC is pushing finFET down another node, while Samsung is jumping to GAA. While it would be easy to jump to conclusions about who's in the lead, more interesting is the strategic decision-making going on and what the differing risk profiles say about each. In other words, has TSMC really fallen behind or is their market position such that they want to minimize risk? Has Samsung jumped ahead or are they more willing to take on more risk to gain a strategic advantage?
