    TSMC's Technology Symposium : was a tech tour de force. Never before in history has a semiconductor company shown so much new technology in so short a time. If you add in the new N12e, they have been developing at least 8 nodes at the same time. And as they have done before, developing on all three edges. They are also driving advanced packaging. Their biggest message was that Moore's Law is far from dead... They are developing ... TSMC's need for more and bigger wafer fabs.

    What's Happening and What's the Meaning: COVID-related component shortages are creating scarcity in the electronics market. HSMC halts production.

    Maxims Reloaded: Look like a duck: cool and collected on the surface, while paddling hard underneath. But never stop paddling, or you will be a sitting duck. I am updating this maxim with TSMC observations. Given TSMC's historic success and its flat-out run-down Moore's curve in the nodes following 28nm, it's hard to believe they would ever have to apply the look-like-a-duck maxim. However, they did and succeeded because of it...
