    Flying high into 2H20
    • Order activity for semiconductor equipment surged by more than two points, hitting a new high for the year
    • All segments jumped higher with SOC Mobile and Memory recording the biggest gains
    • SOC Mobile got another boost from TSMC, which raised its 2020 CapEx by another $1B
    • Memory activity has been on a mend thanks in part to improved pricing
    • Subcon/Adv. Packaging has been another hot area that has benefited from the Memory recovery and the 5G rollout
    • Despite the growing macro uncertainties, the visibility for chipmakers and equipment suppliers is improving through Q4
    • IC sales forecast has been upgraded to +6% from +2% on the back of stronger than expected demand and improved pricing
    • IC units were also upgraded to +2%
    • Equipment and Electronics forecasts remained unchanged at +7% and -5%, respectively
    • VLSI's Chip Price Performance Index fell again, but at a slow rate
      • DRAM fell
      • NAND declined
      • MPUs flat
    • IC inventories are rising
