The seas are calm and there's plenty of light left before we get to next year
    • Order activity for semiconductor equipment jumped past 105 degrees with SOC Computing clocking in the biggest gain
    • Equipment suppliers remain very bullish about this year's prospects and they expect the positive momentum to carry over into 2022
    • This momentum will be driven by the industry's megatrends (digital transformation of the economy, AI, 5G) coupled with strong multiyear CapEx plans that chipmakers are putting forward
    • Chipmakers are still playing catch up with demand; however, we expect the ongoing shortages to abate by the end of the year as more capacity comes online
    • VLSI's Chip Price Performance edged higher
      • DRAM flat
      • NAND increased
      • MPUs declined
    • Equipment sales are soaring in 1H21
The seas are calm and there's plenty of light left before we get to next year
