Order activity for semiconductor equipment tumbled nearly three points amid rising uncertainty
All the major segments declined except for Subcon/Adv. Packaging and DAO
Equipment suppliers have had a strong earnings season and expect solid results in Q4
They're on track to increase their sales by low double-digits this year and outperform chipmakers for the second consecutive year
Visibility for equipment suppliers remains limited due to growing uncertainty on both macroeconomic and geopolitical fronts
Chipmakers have also had a relatively strong earnings season so far-though not as strong as equipment suppliers
Automotive and Mobile markets are improving following a rough 1H20
Datacenter has hit a rough patch due to weakness in enterprise and government spending
VLSI's Chip Price Performance Index finished flat
DRAM declined
NAND rose
MPUs flat
Equipment growth is rolling over in 4Q20
