200mm wafer fab capacity utilization reaches critical levels

    VLSIresearch reported that wafer fab capacity utilization 200mm reached critical levels of 90% in July and August, driven by rising demand for specialty semiconductors, according to VLSIresearch. 200mm wafer fabs are a critical source of supply for smartphone chips, as they are used significantly to manufacture chips such as MEMS, RF, power, and camera image sensors.
